What Is Raw Pu-erh (Sheng Pu-erh)?
Raw Pu-erh, also called Sheng Pu-erh, is a traditional Yunnan tea made through sun-drying and compression. Unlike ripe Pu-erh, it does not undergo artificial fermentation. Instead, it ages naturally over years or decades, slowly transforming in aroma, texture, and depth.
How Raw Pu-erh Changes Over Time
- Young (1–3 years): Fresh, grassy, floral, vibrant energy
- Mid-aged (5–10 years): Balanced, honeyed, smoother body
